Is200 With Original "is300" Fronlights?

Emil Frey AG is official Lexus distributor here in Switzerland and there they guarantee this car is accident-free.

I wonder why would IS200 have original IS300 front lights? Were there any IS200 produced this way?

IS200 are standard lights and IS300 are HIDs...

Just a thought.

is200's came with HID after a certain date possibly around 2004, this may be an early version and then again the euro models may differ from the uk models

the is300 light units are not a straight swap and would have needed work being carried out the the front wings, so wouldnt have been a factory upgrade

There are no modifications for the JDM/UK headlights to fit on USDM IS300. IS300 came with HID and Autoleveler as a package for under $900 US dollars per side. :o

Im not sure if JDM and UK are different.

Just go out and buy an HID kit and locate the ballast on the crash bar. But dont know if the wires are long enough.

USDM IS300 did not come with amber reflector in the corners. We use amber bulbs.

That's what the headlight look like if they are HIDs. At least here in Sweden, most IS200s from 2002 onward have got those.

Meanwhile I saw another lex with those headlights, so I guess there is a special "series" of them. However, I saw quite a few later lexes with still the "orange stripe" IS200 ones.

So, you say the "no stripe" headlights are Xenon lights?

In fact I'll verify that soon. Crashed my lex last week, so it's in repair right now, but the quote I got from the garage says "Xenon headlights".

Anyway, the car is great, it absorbed 100% of the impact energy, so we (my wife and I) didn't feel anything. But the repair price is painful I tell you.

ok here is to clarify things. IS200 headlights (orange indicator lense) do not fit on the IS300 and vise versa. the HID IS300 headlights ( clear indicator lense) were introduced on the IS200 on the MY04.5 model which included the upgrade from the 5 spoke 17" wheels to the 11 spoke wheels for the range topping model. All MY04.5 models onwards also came with different windscreen washers, dark chrome headlights, fogs, tail lights. So yeh the IS300 lights need different fender headlight mounts. I have IS300 lights on my MY02 2003 IS200 because I custom fitted them.
