Time For Tires...

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys...got MOT in a few weeks and i don't think my tires will pass the MOT....my dunlops costed me £160 each and both has lasted about a yr (under 12k miles) , the usual..tire inside is worn and 70% of the tire has like 5mm tread left or there abouts. So just want to check that these are the right size tires to order for my is200 (front set, standard alloy).

Eagle F1s

Cheers!

Is the geometry setup properly? (from what you are saying about the front inside tyre wear it appears that the geometry is not correctly setup) You should be able to get more than 12k from a set of tyres.

I'd get WIM to setup the geometry first, then buy new tyres.

Yes, Goodyear Eagles F1's are recommended.

Cheers m8..wish i never paid so much the first time round, was too late, didn't know about the is200 geo set was a total f**kup until a little while back and had no time. I'm not going to WIM until i get my car serviced and cam belt changed, so it will be next month...like i said many a times...i live like 200+ miles from WIM.

I had my wheels aligned at Elite Tyres in Rainham Essex. They use a computerised system and have have had no problems with my tyres since. Their website is www.elitedirect.com . And it will save you a tiem and money travelling to WIM.

Well worth a visit to see Tony at WIM, great guy and does a great job

Your location says you are in Kent... can't be 200 miles to WIM can it as Chesham is around 115 miles from Dover according to Multimap...??

The only thing to watch for is the target positions written by Lexus were wrong! Hence this ever long issue regarding tyre wear.

I re-wrote the settings and they are available in this clubs knowledge base for anyone to use :)

If your travelling to Elite you may as well go the extra mile or two to W.I.M.

Definately worth the distance, it is in an excellent location with state of the art equipment and proffessional personal one on one diagnostics. Not like at Elite, where they drive your car off and you loose all control.

Once you geo. has been adjusted you will be amazed at how different your car will feel and handle, just like a new IS, no.... actually better than NEW :hehe:
