Here's One For You.....

i've ordered my little grom audio doo dah and i was planning on putting the ipod in my glove box

BUT..........

you know that little kinda flap compartment by the handbrake? i was thinking it would be really cool if i could get the ipod connected in there, then when i wanted to have a mess i can, and people in the back could hav a look too.

how easy do you think it would be to run the cable through from the back of stereo through to that flap without any cable showing?

Kind of like this:

If you have original ipod touch packaging, the plastic it comes in fits perfectly into the gap by handbrake, then I just ran a cable from the headphone port under the centre console and around to a tape device that plays it through the stereo (wasn't aware of this grommit device thing - might look into it now!

Its a little hairy looking down at the handbrake trying to select music, I recommend setting up a could of playlists before you go!

hi, thanks for the reply, dont think mine will fit that snug as its a nano but im sure i can make shift summat, is the cable inder the centre unit or on the outside? looks like a cable on the left of the unit. im not a fan of cables showing.

the grom sounds fantastic, you'll never really need to fiddle about as you can control the ipod using the cd controls on your stereo.

The pic above was when I tried it out to make sure it would work, it was late at night, Ive since installed it in so the wires don't show (just a tiny tiny wire coming out of the tape deck and into the left hand side running behind the stereo.

You can control the ipod using standard CD controls!? What!? Wh as no-one told me about this before!

ave you got a link to website / details?!

Push your hand into the leather gater round the gear lever, hook you fingers under the console bit and give it a pull, should just lift off giving you accses to underneath....
