Is 200 Remote Door Locks !

Sorry to be a nuisance, On my 200 sport when I press the lock button on my remote key the doors lock and the indicators flash once, If I press lock a 2nd time it appears to lock again and the indicators flash 4 times ! Ive been through the handbook but cant find what it means, Im sure one of you wise members out there can help............Please

If you press the lock button up to 3 or 4 seconds after locking the car, this deadlocks the doors and activates the alarm and immobliser.

This is why it sounds like it is locking twice... ;)

just tried it on mine and it only flashes once every time??

I thought it sets the alarm and immobiliser on just one click, and sets the deadlocks on 2 clicks?

when the IS changed in 01 - the locking mechanism altered.

Pre 01 models

first click = full locking, deadlocks - everything

second click - full locking, but disables internal motion sensors

Post 01 models

first click - locks - no deadlocking

second click - dead locks

subsequent click - locks click and lights flash

on the post 01 models, there is a convoluted series of actions to disable the internal motions sensors, clicking the driver side lock button 5 times etc

Well, it's definatley dealocks, and I believe it is the immobilser too...

The alarm could be with the first...., you'd have to ask one of the experts .. (zee007 springs to mind ;) )

Owners handbook or something i think it's called.

Amazing the stuff in there - all about how things on my car work ...

Like alarm, locks, stereo - even tyre pressures, servicing, specs etc.

Sounds like it could be a real winner ...

What say we ask Lexus to include them as standard
