Alarm Problems

Recommended Posts

Had abit of a problem wid the alarm lately.

Keeps going off randomly, sometimes about 5 minutes after i lock it, then maybe once every hour or 2 until i give up and just leave it unlocked. The other night I came home at 10pm, and it started going off at 2.30 in the morning. Happens at work, home, parents house. Basically everywhere

I had a quick search on the forums and i tried almost everything - Closed the air vents, pressed lock twice to disarm the inside sensor, took all the shiny things out the way...errr, cant think of anything else at the moment

I was thinking that it might of had something to do with the new CD player i fitted but cant find any wiring problems or anything wrong with it

Anyone got any ideas or am i going to have to see an auto electrician?

Cheers

i had the same problem years ago with an impreza after i fitted a new stereo and cd changer it was the cd changer that was at fault it kept hunting for cd's and the power it drew from the Battery was enough to set the alarm off try disconnecting your stereo and see if the problem goes away m8

does sound like a power draw trigger is the headunit wired up correctly with the ACC and 12v feed if reversed head unit will be on all the time thus giving a power draw and triggering alarm (possibly)

i didnt think the IS200 had Power sensing circuits i might have missed that bit though lol

Yeah interior lights come on when the doors are opened. Tried disconnecting the CD player last week for a couple of days but it still kept doing it. If the siren battery's in the boot it might be worth finding and checking it out, had a bit of a water leak in the boot a while ago after having my accident

Hey Scott,

I had this problem a year ago also. I don't use the ashtray in the car and used it to save up my pennies...;-) That caused the problem in my car. The sensor is right beneath it.

The sensor was also way too sensible, they tuned it down a bit. Pennies out of the way...problem solved.

Cheers,

M-tec

Right...after further inspection, still couldnt find anything wrong...Until yesterday,

The rear drivers side door doesn't activate the interior light when opened, and all the rest do...

So what can i do to sort it out??

take the switch out and clean or replace..
