Dash Centre Speaker Panel Removal?

Recommended Posts

I had the dash rattle fixed the other day by Lex Reading, and its fine, but the centre speaker panel is now rattling v slightly. It stops when I gently put my finger on top, so it might just need refitting, or some lube around it. Its a shame as the car is now otherwise completely rattle free!

Can anyone tell me how to remove the centre speaker panel it so I can have a bash at it?

Thanks,

Robert.

I removed it, but it wasn't it that was rattling. In the end I fixed it by wedging a short length of rope between the screen and the dash- worked a treat!

would like to see picture of that  ROPE

who knows Lexus might use that technical design.

The rope only worked to a certain extent, so I have removed it. I've now incorporated a piece of folded black cardboard this morning, which following some extensive pre repair diagnosis last night on the M40 I am confident will work! I will issue a TSB for anyone who's interested!!

Who says you need an old british classic car to have fun with a bit of gimcrack DIY!

robert, did you watch a lot of blue peter as a lad?i think it's a dash out and refit with the damping on the mount's,it's a factory fix and since mine was done it's been fine.

It spent two days at a dealer last week getting the dash rattle sorted with removal and refit but its started rattling again in a different place :tsktsk:

You know what they say, if you want a job done properly...

...then use some double sided sticky tape etc!

I will get it sorted properly, but at least now it can wait til the next service, or I would end up attacking the car with a stick, Basil Fawlty-style, after a long journey.
