My Battery has a pale yellowy powdery residue accumilating on the top, and isn't holding a charge for much more than a day now if I don't use the car, Halfrauds or Stealer, or elsewhere? any brands that are good value for money?

I bought a heavy duty 3 year warrenty Battery from Halfords for my friends Seat Leon........It's lasted just over a year (15 months) and just died this week and won't hold a charge. Took it back to Halfords and no problem they tested it (knackered of course) and gave me a new one. However, you don't get a new warrenty......Oh no, the warrenty is the one that came with the first Battery, even though this one is brand new it only has the remainder of the warrenty on it?????? Anyway I argued with the blokey behind the counter and had to leave because he was getting very close to getting a thump.

However, my Lex has the OEM Battery which has so far lasted since 2001 and still going strong (now I've said that watch it die tonight.....Eeesh).......So I'd seriously think about an OEM Battery......I know in Halfords or is it Halfrauds, that a IS200 Battery is around the £75 mark, so £55 sounds a good deal if you can get it.

unfortunately thats how warranties work, same with golf shoes from my own experience, cheers for that, basically a warranty is the specified term from original purchase date, for example, if the Battery was to last 2 years 11 and a half months and each time u got a fresh warranty too, u'd never end up payin for a new Battery, and the retailers wouldn't make money

Cheers for the advice, will batteries from Toyota be the same, cos Toyota is closer to me...?

I have only been doin mainly short journeys since owning the car for 2 years so i know thats no good for the Battery, i'll just have to do some good runs with a new one
