Trouble Starting This Morning

Come out from work this morning and tried to start the car but failed to start.

Took 3 attempts to get it started.

Now the weather down here is very damp this morning, fine rain and foggy and I'm wondering if this is the problem.

But on my ols IS I don't remember ever having starting problems

Could be the Battery mate as a lot have been killed off by the cold weather we've had this last few months!

What is the problem exactly, is there a problem turning the engine over, i.e. the Battery seems weak ? Or is it turning over fine but not firing ?

Battery seems fine as it turned over OK with no hesitation or lack of life.

It was turning over but just wouldn't fire until the 3rd attempt and then ran fine settling down on idle.

Mine does exactly the same thing, and is affected by exactly the same weather - fine rain.

It's getting a new set of spark plugs this weekend so I'm hoping that cures it.

It's definitely not the Battery on my car either.

I would tend to suspect the spark plugs. Do you know how long it is since they were changed, and if they're the long-life OEM ones ?

The plugs have been in there only 12K according to the paperwork I got. The last service was done at a Lexus dealer so I'm assuming they used OEM ones.

Went out this afternoon and no problem at all.

Perhaps it was just the weather causing the problem, it was very damp air this morning.

i have the same problem with my is300, ive changed the battery(from lexus) and bought the correct plugs, and i still have the same issue.

only happens when engine is cold or left for more than 4/5 hours...once warm then no probs at all.
