When driving normally in town with the odd burst of acceleration, I average around 22 mpg. On a long motorway journey from Middlesbrough to London running solely on Cruise control set to 70 mph and dropping down to 50 mph for roadworks, I get 34 mpg.

On a long motorway journey at ahem, more realistic speeds but still using the cruise control, 28mpg is achievable.

I read everywhere (in newspapers) about the superb consumption of LS460 and you have proven it again - those are really unbelievable numbers for such a large car with powerfull V8 engine!

Hi there Matus,

Had mine now for 2000 miles and I am averaging 27.9 mpg : that really is a good mix of picking the kids up from school and two longish motorway journeys. Thats at least 7.9 miles per gallon more than my previously owned 3.0Ltr S Type Jag.

p.s. its always fed Shell Optimax/V Power
