I have a '98 GS300 SE with factory alarm key fob. What do the 'lock presses' mean. Whn I press once, the indicators flash once and the doors lock. When I press a second time the indicators flash five times. What does this mean, I overheard a lexus sales person relating to a new IS200 saying that the second press is to lock the dooors and deactivate the alarm. Which version is correct

On the IS200, the second press switches off the interior microwave sensor, but still keeps the car alarmed on the doors.

This is incase you were leaving a pet in the car(otherwise pet would activate the alarm by moving around).

If you press the lock button a second time within 5 seconds of the first press it activates the deadlocks. If you listen to the car you will hear them engage.

If you press it a second time after 5 seconds then it turns off the internal sensers and flashes the idicators many times to indicate this.

Now try finding that desciption in any GS handbook or how to check the gearbox oil :withstupid:
