Is200 Wheels Touching The Rear Wings

Recommended Posts

Hi! I have some Dotz Radium with 235/35/19 kumo tyres on my is200 sport and they are touching the inside lip of my rear wings. It's all about 3-5 mm difference. Can someone recommande me a solution to this problem beside changing the wheels.

You should be using tyres with a 25 tyre wall or else you speedo will be a little slow so i would go for 235/25/19 or 225/25/19 . It works something like this standard wheels are 215/45/17 so if wheel goes up a wheel size to 18 the tyre wall must drop a inch to 35 tyre wall with no work just a swop of wheels and tyres but if going for 20 inch wheels you will need to have work done to speedo and arches and possibly bump stop on springs .

Hope this helps

It's looks like arch rolling is the only solution. Ynothsi can you tell me what is the difference on my current config; eg 60 miles on my speedo, real 62 miles...?

Thx!!!

With that tyre size your wheel will have a diameter 21.8mm larger than standard - meaning your speedo will under-read. According to this calculator it says that when the speedo says 70mph, you will actually be doing 72.44mph.

Closest match to the original wheel size would be 235/30/19.

Have a look on here.........LINK

Hi! I have done the arches this weekend. I have used a rubber head hummer and everything went OK.

The only problem was the paint from the lips. It was already coming off so ill have to repaint is as soon as possible.

Fortunately it doesn't have any visual impact over the car.
