In Case You Were Wondering

Recommended Posts

In case you were wondering what happens if you press the start/stop button when driving, nothing!

But if you hold it down for 3 seconds, it turns off the car.

Ahhhh was my reaction just now when I tried it, but press it again and the car leaps back to life.

Yes i know it was a stupid thing to do but I was bored and the road was empty!

Reminds me of a letter I read in the paper eons ago....

Bloke has old car and lives at the bottom of a slight incline. So that he can make quick exit from car, at the top of the hill, into neutral, switches off ignition, keys out, glides down road, pulls into drive with only a little momentum so a quick jab on the brakes brings him to a halt by his front door.

Buys new car fitted with one of these new fangled steering locks, gets to top of hill.... you can guess the rest...

Potentially very dangerous because cutting the engine means no power steering and no brake servo.

depends on speed,

location

and his brakes would still work

and so will his steering,

it just means he will have massive leg muscles and biceps.

They did that one on Mythbusters, the car would not shift into reverse gear dispite how hard the gear lever was pulled.
