Welcome mate.

The IS200 is a great car- although the boot on the saloon may not be big enough for a pushchair etc for the new arrival? Have you consider the sportcross version?

Cheers for the welcome chaps :)

I thought the boot looked plenty big enough!

I looked at an estate, but thought it looked a bit out proportion. I decided on the IS200 as its still a pretty car to look at. Want something that looks nice, with reasonable performance and build quality!

This may sound a stupid question, but just want to double check their isnt a diesel model...?

Been reading a few threads about mpg and the one about sitting at 2900 at 70 caught my eye! Im yet to take one for a spin, but hopefully it wont be to noisy on the motorway!

No diesel IS200 (there's a diesel IS220d- tbh that's a bit of a dog).

My manual IS200 does 23-26 mpg locally, but I can get between 33-36 mpg on a motorway run (@ 70 mph)

Have you considered a Audi A4 avant or BMW 320d estate? If you must have a Jap diesel I'd go for a Honda Accord CDTI tourer (my brother got the saloon version, its a very good car).

I did look at the 5 door A3, but was put off by the money they hold! Seems as if you can get a lot more car for your money with a lot less miles!

To be completly honest, the mpg isnt such a major issue, but just wanted to double check I wasnt missing something regarding to the IS!

A pedigree that's more economical, with masses more torque, faster and more fun to drive than the petrol version (at least in sport trim) :P

The Lexus 220 seems a ncie car, but even at the cheaper end of the scale its more than I want to be spending on a car. The misses is stepping up from a smart car, so im sure theres going to be a few scrapes! At least with a cheaper car it wont be the end of the world! :D

go straight for an is300 in my opinion if you want some performance without modding-after an elise the is200 is gonna feel like a bus performance wise,in my opinion-should be able to pick up a good 300 with full leather for £4-5k easily
