Caliper Color Suggestion

Hi mates,

Looking for another piece of advice. Almost decided already to paint the "summer" wheels to something like this:

Once the wheels are repainted, probably will also have to do the calipers. So, what do you think, what color would suit the best? So far I was thinking of plain silver possibilty with black lexus decals (or black calipers with white decals) :) . What do you think? The best photo I have with calipers seen in current state:

Given the colour of the car I think you're probably best with silver, black or grey with contrasting decals. Having said that I'm reasonably conservative having painted my calipers black with silver decals :)

Same with me - have no wish to stand out with red brembo like calipers myself :) What kind of paint/decals did you get?

is the price for the decals reasonable? That's quite expensive for a few stickers, IMHO :)

hey, what kind of question is that?!

paint the calipers in aztec-fire! ;)

it's such a fine color for the IS.

i'm sure you can go to a shop that sells paint in spray cans and ask them if they can get you two cans of paint with color code "Toyota 3N3" (aztec fire).

two cans should be enough for 4 calipers.

then also get one or two spray can of clear coat.

and then paint your calipers. ;)

it will work just fine.

if you don't use your car on a race track, the paint will hold without any problems.

Thanks for the reply. Never thought of that - always have been told to get paint that can withstand high temperature. Anybody other has painted their calipers in general car paint? Nope - have no intentions to use my car on a race track...

In order not to create yet another thread, does anybody know what is the color code for gunmetal? Something like this:

silver_gunmetal.jpg

when i had all my plastic trims painted in an anthracite colour on a previous car i had to match them to the wheels so i just went to a bodyshop and asked to pick a colour from then swatch books i went with a crysler colour
