Is200 (2002) Indicator Click...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First post so be gentle :)

I've just bought an IS200 which I'm using to learn in (yes I know unusual 1st car). However the only thing I'm finding a bit difficult to grasp is the lack of a 'clicking' sound when the indicators are on. Is this normal? Seems a bit unusual that it beeps like a HGV when reversing but doesn't give any audible indication of...indicating.

Is this normal, or is my clicker broken :P

Yeah, I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Would just be nice to know if it can easily be sorted by replacing a relay or something. I felt like a total twit last night when I realised I'd gone about a mile down the motorway indicating left.

Same here- whenever I drive my dad's Audi the indicator click in that car is a lot louder.

Welcome to IS family ;)

You will get used to it. I had '92 corolla before Lex and it clicked like sick :D and Lexus seemed very quiet.

I am pretty sure there is no such thing as 'clicker'. I think turn signal relay is what makes the click.

Going off subject abit, and not being "nasty", but what were you doing on the motorway if you are learning?

Well noticed...are you a cop? :P

I actually mean to say dual carriage way officer :D

agree here too, clicking on my 2000 sport is very low but fu*k it, i love the car and this doesnt bother me in the slightest

Yeah I aint gonna let it spoil my new toy. Besides I just treated her to a sponge bath and a clay down before tucking her in for the night :P

hi mate and welcome,

first mine does click but it is low in volume i dont think they should be loud it bugs me more than anything

second it beeps in reverse because the reverse gear is next to 1st and its very easy to put the car into either gear when at a stand still so it just lets you know what gear ur in as not to reverse into the car sat behind you at a set of traffic lights.

i had a celica gen 7 which did the same
