Lowering By 30Mm/40Mm/50Mm?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to lower my car very soon as the back sits too high at the moment and it obviously doesn't look nice lol.

Can someone recommend me what springs to get? I'm looking for a 40mm drop but have also seen good feedback for the tte springs on here but it only gives a drop of 30mm. Has someone got any pics with their car on tte springs please?

Also would I need to change my standard shocks if I was to lower my car by 50mm? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-IS200-TOYOTA-ALTEZZA-TENZO-LOWERING-SPRINGS-/370396625046?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item563d5bf896

this isn't a lexus specific answer but its an answer that applies to all lowered cars really so i hope it helps :)

the TTE springs are the best compromise to work with OEM equipment (i.e., your original shocks and top mounts) but tend to be a little on the "didn't lower if very far" side (i'm going off what mates have put them on here - starlets, yarises, mk3 MR2s)

if you want the car to achieve the low look without a set of coilovers find a set of tein s-tech springs, they're quoted at 35mm but usually sit a lot lower.

technically speaking you should change your shocks with any set of springs - you get different spring rates and the shock runs permanent sag when it's lowered. the only difference with putting 50mm ones on instead of 30mm ones is that your standard shocks will wear out a bit quicker, as they're further removed from the sitting position they were designed for. no set of springs will be the end of the world really, it's only if you start doing idiotic things like cutting them that problems arise.

50 mm mate seriously.....as said above you fit the springs and think to your self is that lower...

go 50!!

Yes your right mate, I wasn't really keen on changing the shocks to be honest. I was looking to buy these set of springs from eBay as I believe someone on this forum has bought these aswell.

Will it affect my ride quality?
