Damnit! Failed The Mot _Again_

Recommended Posts

2 MoTs, 2 failures, same thing both times - a broken spring.

Other than that, though, no advisories at all, not bad for a 13 16 year old car... my old Vauxhall (only 5 years older than the Lex) used to come with a couple of pages of tales of woe...

Tell me, is one supposed to slow down for those speed hump thingies? :tomato:

Slow down? Only if you're NOT in a Citroen DS/CX.....whose suspension sails over them quite perfectly! I'm often tempted to go back to them. (wonder how an XM does.......)

Could it be a coincidence that "Chris Skelton" contains the word "Citroen"?

I had three CX's [not at the same time!], never had an XM, but was told

not as good as the old CX!

I had an XM a few years ago bought it for £70.00 on a J plate I think, needed 2 spheres for MOT,galvanized body so no rust.

With the wide track it straddled speed bumps and those it had to go over I couldn't tell it had.

With the LS I always try to avoid the things but we have them on the estate where I live so take them very slowly, they make the suspension squeak when its cold but never had a broken spring just 2 front lower ball joints this time.
