Help! Gs430 Sat Nav With No User Manual!

Recommended Posts

A very Noobe cry for help! Just got my wonderful 2000 GS430 SE Navigator today - my first Lexus with Sat Nav. I thought I understood the basic instructions on hand over when I bought this elegant driving machine privately, but half an hour later brain fog set in. Probably all the adrenaline from trying the car out on a fast road. Wow. I can work out some of it, it is, after all, a computer - but trying to find out how to delete the previous owners' destinations, set my own home destination etc...a bit baffling on first try.

So I've had a good look on eBay and online to see if I can buy or download the satnav manual so I can attempt to learn how to use this thing, but no luck. All help gratefully received.

Thanks very much! It worked and I'm getting more confident and managing to explore how to use it! Easy when you know how! Used it with the guidance yesterday and it made the drive seriously relaxed - even though I've always resisted sat navs - I'm a convert.

As it's an older model, I'm not sure if it's possible to get upgrades for it to show speed cameras etc? Not that I want to speed, it's just hard not to in the GS430. Wonderful car.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi,glad to be of assistance, yes its easy when you know how.Yes you can get upgrades,I have the 2009/10,however not cheap as mine cost £139 from cheaptoyotaparts. If you can get hold of the disc numbers for your current disc(that is the one in your car)input it into the lexusmapudates web site and it should give you the latest update part number and cost, you can then take it from there.
