Replacing Drive Belts

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Attempted to replace my drive belts at the weekend as seems a straight forward job and my motor was screeching like a bitch!

Tried the adjuster on the tensioner for the AC belt....its bolt is undoing (ie coming out/upwards) but its not moving the pulley along the slider as I expected - the pulley should move down the slider loosening the belt am I right?

Do you think I have my pulley jammed in the slider? Shall I give it a bit of a knock with a hammer?

Do I need to crack off the nut on the pulley itself?

Any help replacing belts would be appreciated? It looks straight fwd but as with any jap car, prob something im missing??

Cheers
