Wing Mirror Fluid On Paintwork

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I have been rather stupid, clashed wing mirrors the other day with an on coming car. The Glass broke. Over night the fluid has leaked out down the door paintwork, and now i can't get it ioff - it seems to have stained the paint.

Any iedeas for removing ?

What tyhe hell is in it ?

Thanks in advance

Jon

Expect a big bill for the glass, around the £250 to £300 mark and they are very hard to come by second-hand.

As above it's the photochromic fluid, I'm sure I've read a similar thread many years ago but can't remember what the solution was, could be worth having a search.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have done the exact same thing and now it's looking like I'm going to have to get the 2 off side panels resprayed - and that's on top of the £600 for a new wing mirror. Seems like a ridiculous amount of cost for a broken wing mirror.
