ok

i lost one of my keys not so long ago on a night out, so i was down to one key. I went on holiday last tuesday and i hid my spare key somewhere in the house (i think). I seem to have hidden it so well that i cant find it, complete disaster have torn the house apart looking for the key but no joy.

I am going to spend another week looking for it, but if i cant find it what price am i looking at for new keys?

Car is IS220D year 2006.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that :( very easily done.

A new remote and cut key will cost £214.01 inc vat plus the cost of programming.

Ok rang lexus, big problem needs a new ecu to be paired with the keys so were talking big money. Was thinking that I might of locked the keys into the booth, is there anyway to open the booth with out damaging the car.

Ah, sorry, did not realise you had lost both keys :(

As your dealer has said, it will require 2 new keys, a key ID ECU and a Certification ECU and the dashboard needs to come out to do the job.

The best thing you can do would be to get your dealer to order a new key blade, which is about £30 iirc and then you can unlock the car then if you still cant find the old key it would be worth checking if your car or house insurance covers you for lost keys.

How much would this cost Andy roughly out of interest?

nissan refused to do any thing about it until i towed the car to them.

so i contacted a "locksmith". they arranges a guy to come over, Minimum charge was £123 for one hours work and then double that for two hour etc

Well i wasnt home, but wife tells me that it took him 5 mins to break into the car (how safe)
