Anyone Tried The Michelin Pilot Super Sport? Some Tire Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Standard 225/45/17 & 245/45/17. My thoughts at first were Michelin Primacy HP & Bridgestone Potenza but then started looking at the Michelin Pilot 2 & 3 when I stumbled on the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Was wondering whether anyone tried these tires.

Cheers,

Anthos

I have a set of Super Sports on my IS-F and find they're much better than the PS2's.

Don't know why you'd need them on a 250/220, but it's your money so your choice.

Personally I found the Toyo TR1's to be a superb tyre on my IS250 SE-L, but they were on 19" rims as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. Didn't mention that I'm in Cyprus (I swear I remember listing that in the profile on the left?) so no worries for under 7 degrees or snow  Read about the Toyos/Dunlops on the forum but down here we mainly deal with Michelin and maybe Bridgestone at the shops especially with the 245s. I had a really tough time finding a Potenza 245/45 when I damaged the left rear.

I believe these will not cost me more than the Primacy HP. As I said above I thought of going for the Toyos but I think it's more practical to go for a brand that I know I can find a certain replacement. You've made me wanna check again for the Toyos now  Money set aside, do you find the Michelin SS better than the Toyo?

Thanks again guys.

I have Falken ZE912'S on my IS250, and they seem to be realy good, dont't be put off by the name, they get good reports.I will not use bridgestones, as they seem noisy and very firm, for the money the Falken's are a realy good tyre.

The actual replacement for the PS2 is the PS3 isn't it?

In any case I recently went for some PS3s over the super sports purely because reviews suggested that the PS3s were more comfortable than the SS.

The SS has better performance but in an IS200 that difference isn't as relevant as comfort (for me anyway) :)

The PS3 is the revised PS2 and supposedly has better handling in the wet. The PS2's I had on the IS-F made it really tail happy so I'm very happy to report that the SS's have cured that little problem  .
