False Advertising

Saw an advert in a local rag for an IS200 from Lexus. The headline was

Everything comes as Standard

and it shows a lurvly looking IS200.

When you go down to the bottom of the advert in the small print it says

"Car shown has Optional 18 inch alloys and body styling kit"

The advert worked, it got my attention, but a bit dodgy me thinks

Car looks good though B)

Why not write to the dealer and say you will pay them £25 000 for the car and then in small print at the bottom put 'actual offer is £10 000'

Next time I go into the dealers I think I am gonna turn up on a moped with the 'fro... see if they let me take out a standard IS200... actually, see if they let me in the door.

Well if they can missrepresent, so can we!

You can complain online on the ASA website - they take the complaints very seriously and seem to investigate every one

I arranged my test drive very "informally dressed"

didn't put them off - got an IS unaccomapnied for more or less a whole day

Nah, try getting the RX or the SC and ask them what they would give part ex for the moped,
