If you look on the IS200 forum, theres a topic from Sprinter, he made his own system with a Apexi filter. He makes and sells them, but hes also got all the parts listed down u need, roughly around £150 i think all in all. Pretty easy to do if youve got a weekend free. And it looks the dogs nadgers! B) if you need any ifno ask him..im sure hel help, but its a really handy post.

Well i have had a look on eBay.... for 1m alloy pipe and all the silicon bits (without the reducer for the filter- obviously size of reducer will differ from filter to filter) works out just under £40 (excluding filter) will post item numbers up if anyone else needs them.....

Advice I had from 2 specialists as that a good uprated filter gives the same as an induction kit so dont waste your money. The standard system works well, unless you are just doing it for looks.

The specialists are half correct. No induction kit will make any measurable difference to IS200 performance. But panel filters etc. won't either unless as a replacement for a severely clogged OEM Filters. "Uprated" filters could allow extra air to flow; but the engine is incapable of asking for any extra air unless a supercharger or the like is fitted. The original filter does not impose a detectable restriction in flow on the standard engine.

The only reasonable excuse to fit these is to get stuff that looks pretty, is useless but doesn't do any harm. Both can change engine noise - which you could use to convince yourself amounts to improved performance & flexibilty.

I just had my Lexus on the Dyno last week, and it lost 4HP with the Pipercross Induktion kit, compared to the stock intake with KN filter panel.

It put out 154HP with Stock intake and KN panel filter and 150HP with Pipercross induktion, and the graph was looking mutch smoother with the Stock intake aswell.

thanks for info Patrick. It's good to have a proof from dyno of what is actually happening after modifying your car. Does your car have a modified exhaust?

The only things that was done on the car before the dyno run was the KN Filter panel and a HKS Silent Hi Power exhaust.

The car put out 154HK and 219NM at the wheel. So really pleased with the result :)
