Why is it that all high performance saloons like ours have front wheel arches that are higher than those @ the rear relative to the tyre?

Suspect it could be because only the front wheels can travel up & down whilst sticking out as in a corner - but that is just a guess.

You have a good point & may well be correct but you would think all these high-performance saloons would suffer higher lift @ maximum speed which they clearly do not.
