Lexus Advertising

Has any one else thought of the huge amounts currently being paid by Lexus to carry large daily advertising spreads in our national newspapers. No wonder the prices remain high when so many millions go into advertising. Is it really necessary to saturate to the degree which Lexus are currently carrying out? Surely the cars sell themselves without the overkill?

the cars do sell themselves, but you have to get people into the showrooms

most people presume the IS in particular is about £25 grand and up

the advert highlights that there affordable

most advertising pays for itself

the more you advertise the more people will remember it ,not nescessary tomorrow but the next time they buy a car

think about coca cola they are probably the biggest advertisers in the world

yet they are probably the most well known brand in the world

Rant Mode ON

In case you had not noticed, this country is going through a dire recession (forget the spin, this is the fact!) Professional unemployment is at it's highest for 20 years (not my figs, Price Waterhouse Coopers). I find myself unemployed as a direct result of government policy that is ruining long-term investment by private and public companies.

This has a direct knock-on for the sellers of quality cars. believe me Lexus, BMW, Metcedes, Audi are all finding times tough. Advertising is certainly the best policy here.
