Engine Shut Down

Hello,

I have a question.

I have a IS200 from the year 2000. Now i have a problem with it.

While driving the engine is cutting out. My is200 has an automatic transmisstion.

This problem only happens when i release the throttlepedal, and use the brakepedal, when slowing down for an intersection or a roundabout. The engine stops running and the car rolls slowely till it has no speed so i can put the gearbox in 'P' and i can start the engine immediately and continue driving. It only happens a few time a week.

Has someone a good idea about what could be the problem

Sorry for my english typing skills but i'm from the netherlands.

I will have the ECU read for any error codes before i start throwing money at it but most things to start with is make sure Battery is in good condition and charge rate is good, also have alternator tested to make sure its holding charge and take things from there!!

Sorry can't help with the cause but you can restart the engine whilst still moving by selecting N (Neutral) on the transmission, restarting the engine then reselecting D (Drive) to save having to come to a complete halt.

Nearly forgot welcome to the LOC.
