Clean The Car Time - Better Weather On The Way!

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be giving my car a really good clean inside and out very shortly as it finally looks as though we are in for a fine spell of weather.

I have an Argento Ice IS220d and am wondering if any members of the LOC have come across any cleaning solutions that they have used on this colour car and, that they can say that they are really pleased with the end results.

I have read threads where owners of other colour of car (Blacks and Greens) swear by certain products but have not spotted any input from owners of light coloured cars. Where members have used a certain product on their dark cars, they have mentioned in passing that the don't think that the product would give the same results on lighter coloured cars.

I shall also be wanting to treat the leather interior which is also very light in colour. I shall be looking to clean and protect the leather.

Another thing that I want to do is to clean the black interior areas with a product that will ensure that it retains its matte finish as opposed to a shiny finish. I have tried to clean the black interior threshold areas that have scuff marks but, have found that a simple damp cloth is ineffective and so I will need to get hold of something that will eliminate the scuff marks but, I'm not a fan of that 'Back to Black' stuff.

Many thanks in advance of any input/guidance from other members.

Hi Geoff, there are absolutely hundreds of products on the market that will do a good job. If you're really going to do the job properly you should follow the more or less agreed stages of

Wash - clay - Wash - Polish - Wax.

Have had 4 Lexus' with Black Leather and have found Poorboys Leather Stuff or Poorboys Natural Look Interior (Scuff Plates ) to be the best for me.

All the products out there will work. They all excel with a large amount of 'Elbow Grease'

The quality of a Lexus really does deserve all the time you can spend on it. Good Luck

Hi Graham, Thank you very much for your valued input. I have noticed that the Poorboys items do get a fair amount of mention on here and, with the added endorsement from yourself I will get some ordered and get my elbows into top gear! Thanks again for your help.
