Hi!

I've just joined the forum today, having just ordered my first Lexus. It's a 2006 250 SE-L with MM. Get it in a few weeks (hols in the way)

Any bits of advice for when I pick it up?

Ta!

hi Steadly,

welcome to the club

I got my 2006 IS250 SE-L a couple of years ago, and don't regret a minute of it. It is a lovely car to drive - you should have many hours of driving pleasure ahead :shifty:

Service at 50K is expensive [ I assume you're around that figure] so I suggest you take out a service deal [ if you intend to have it serviced at a dealer].

There may be the odd squeaks and noises - this forum is loaded with information and advice, so if you're worried about anything just check it out here.

most of all - drive it and enjoy it.

best wishes

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

I see you're from Derbyshire, Lexus Derby by any chance with the purchase?

Make sure you get your name down for all the dealer events and we may meet up.

Thanks all for the welcomes, much appreciated.

The car is a Over the expensive service,it's quite high mileage at 75k, but I figure it's a Lexus, it should keep going for a few years yet (at least until I've paid for it!)

Hope to see you guys around...

Right,

Now had the IS250 for 3 weeks, now and really starting to enjoy it.....

Until I thought I was starting to go mad....

I could have sworn that one of my headlights was out, but when I checked by switching them on when I stopped they were fine. So I ignored it. Until Saturday when I thought I had the lights on dipped beam, but when I got home it was sidelights only... So I waited until night time and went for a drive..... And sure enough one headlight went out after 2 minutes.

So 8am phone call to Lexus Sheffield, they made time for me to go and see them this afternoon. Really excellent service, they replaced both Xenon bulbs, checked the steering alignment (steering wheel was off centre) gave me coffee, and WiFi so I could work. All FoC. :-)

So now I'm really starting to fall in love with the car now, and the Lexus service seems to be good so far.

Oh BTW I'm SOOOOOO impressed with the motorway economy of the 250. Round town its passable about 26mpg, but on a steady 150mile cruise at a true 70mph (GPS verified) I was returning 43 mpg.... from the 250 V6 Petrol. More on this I think soon.....
