Hi All,

What Wattage does the standard is200 amp run at. Is it worth replacing the standard speakers for after market ones while still using the standard headunit and amp. WIll i hear much of a difference in volume/ sounds quality?

Any deatils give about the standard system would be greAT.

Hi.

What model IS do you have?

The SE, Sportscross and Sport models came with a 8 speaker system.

The S model only a 6 speaker system.

I don't know wattage sorry by knowledge on anything electrical is limited

In my opinion the speakers in my IS are the best I've ever had in any car and I don't see an advantage to me at least in changing them.

Have to say I agree with the post above. Bear in mind too, that the SE, Sport and Sportcross all have the external amp to drive those 8 little beauties.

Certainly a good sound to my ears during my ownership of my is200 Sport. I've heard trying to get the rear parcel shelf spurs can be a bit of a ball ache!

I'm guessing you don't have the owners handbook to refer to. Worth looking for on on fleabay.

The car is an SE. How do you check which sounds system its got you mention an 8 speaker system in the SE however i dont believe mine has eight speakers. i can only recall the Parcel shelf speakers the front doors and the tweeters near the wing mirrors.

And yes the sound quality is good but i think the parcel shelf speak need replacing as there is a slight buzz coming from them.

I believe the parcel shelf speakers are 4 speakers in 2 housings. I may be wrong tho...

I've read other members saying they have a 'buzz' in their speakers, mine doesn't!

Yeah i only counted 6, but am guessing the rears have 2 in 1 sorta thing. The sound is good quality in the IS, its a crisp sound with just the right levels of trebble, mid and bass. unlike some of my friends who think adding a subwoofer makes it sound good when really it just sounds like *****. The speakers arent perfect tho, i find i have to turn the bass down if i turn it up loud....
