Is220D And Oiled Panel Filter I.e. K&n

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have read about how oiled panel filters may effect the MAF sensor and so managed to find a Cosworth paper based non oiled filter which would eliminate any issues related to an over oiled filter.

After further deliberation, I still went with the KN oiled panel filter due to the brand and the fact that I know people with turbo engines running them without a problem, however, I am still a little concerned as I recently purchased a Ventura Tuning Box and could do without any future problems.

Is anyone else running a similar setup? i.e. tuning box and oiled panel filter? what about just a K&N?

Any known problems or links to experiences?

I know all the hearsay and "what if" and "what could happen..." but any real world advice and help from people using either product on a daily basis is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

I am using K&N since a few hundred miles so my view doesn't count much but don't have any problems as yet. However, I also don't feel any improvement of any sort over OEM filter

I purchased one and it makes the induction note a little deeper and I heard more "sucking" from the turbo - I actually enjoy it with the Ventura box!

Not really a noticeable difference though but seems to breathe a little better and less asthmatic.
