Possible Loose Connection....

Recommended Posts

Hello guys...

Ive been having some problems of late with my passenger side Headlight keep going out, if i then put my hand under the bonnet and behind the light it comes back on again... this has been happening now for a couple of months.

It has done it again today but i cant get it back on, it does seem like a loose connection... or dodgy plug.

The Lexus dealer near me has said to bring it in on Friday and a tech will have a look at it, do a free assessment... he did say it could be one of the above....

Anyone have any idea what this may cost.....

They don't seem to want to give me a price until they have looked at it...

Cheers

Before you pay anything try cleaning contacts in plug with a small screwdriver. I always give the connectors a little squeeze with pliers as well to tighten spade connectors up. Might even be the bulb at fault?? try swapping it with other side.

Yeah I dont really want to take it in to be honest...

I have never taken the plug or connector off so don't know how its done exactly...

t all looks pretty tight on the passenger side too, unlike the drivers side which seems to have a mass of space...

Went out this morning and just wiggled the red plug about and like magic the headlight comes back on...

I need to get a service done soon so might just wait until then and get it looked at as well...

Would people recommend going to Lexus for a full service or taking it somewhere else?

Only you can answer that question. You will pay extra at Lexus for a service compared to an independent and at the age your car is now, a full Lexus service history won't add much if any value to the car.

I still used Lexus Bristol. They were more expensive but my car came back fully valeted inside and out, they changed a few bulbs that needed replacing free of charge and balanced all 4 wheels free of charge. Plus the customer service is excellent.
