Has Anyone Bought A Lazer Pod. Do They Work?

I bought a Snooper Lazer Pod a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if anyone else has experience of them, it's supposed to detect mobile speed traps which apparently all use lazers. I'm hoping that the £50 I spent will give me more than just a nice blue light on the windscreen!

Careful they ARE illegal & can get you upto £1,000 fine or even jail for Attempting to Pervert the course of Justice

No comment on the legalities but there was a report recently in which a Police speed gun was picked up by the weapons systems on a RAF fighter aircraft some miles away which resulted in an automated fully armed weapons lock on the speed gun!

mmmmmmmmm think I'll take a look on eBay for a decent secondhand Tornado or Harrier. :D

You're scaring me now!!

The manufacturer states that they're legal in the UK but not in parts of Europe.

Didn't think these worked anymore as they changed some frequencies or something like that? I guess if it's a warning device and not a blocker the chance of you getting caught are next to zero

Well, time will tell. I'm driving down to Lands End in a couple of weeks, there's alway mobile traps on the way so a good time to test it.

Does this work for static speed cameras too or just from some kind of laser pointer?

It only works with mobile systems but they do supply a small unit that goes with it that warns of all static ones, and with constant free update. It costs £79 but as I have that on my Tom Tom there didn't seem any point. The Lazer Pod is also only 3cm wide.

Alright, let us know if it works or not, would be interesting to know

I will. In fact, if I see a mobile camera I may just go past it a couple of times to check!
