Getting A Year Of Manufacture From The Vin

My LS400 is supposedly year 2000 but when I enter the VIN into a decoder website, it comes back with 1999.

Can anyone tell me what numbers on the VIN correspond to the year of manufacture?

Sorry, don't know, though maybe it was built late 99, but first registered 2000?

What does it say on DVLA site if you do an enquiry by reg no.?

Do the mirrors fold in electrically (2000 models do)

Yes, the mirrors fold in. What I think it may be is that according to the DVLA (thank you mikeyv) it was first registered in the middle of January 2000 so it probably was made in 1999.

Made in 99 but a 2000 model it is then. have to make them before they sell them.
