Is220D Mpg On New Engine

Hi all,

Just wondering has anyone noticed any difference in mpg on their replacement engines? I had mine replaced a few days ago and it's definately far more economical, On two 25 mile motorway runs we got 46mpg there and 51mpg on the way back! that wasn't hanging about either, sat at 70mph the whole time in 5th!

Thats similar to what I was getting after my new engine.

Although in all fairness I was getting it before too.

Hi, my engine was replaced when I bought the car. So I have no idea about the consumption before.

I drive the car with ~36 mpg at the moment, 30% highway 70 mph, 30% highway 90 mph, 20% country road, 10% city.

So far the engine has 2500 miles on the clock. > 40 mpg are definitely possible, but 50 are really impressive

I do 60% city 30% motorway and 10% country on my daily commute

my avg mpg before the engine went in was 32.

I've done 7000 miles with my new engine in..

my avg Mpg now is 38.
