Extended Warranty

My Lexus warranty runs out in a couple of months and I was wondering if anyone has not renewed theirs. The car is has been 100% reliable in the last 12 months and I've not needed to claim for anything. As it will be over 5 years old the 5+ Lexus warranty covers everything except the MM which is the only thing that seems to go wrong on these cars.

I know its just a peace of mind insurance policy but I'd rather have the £500 in my pocket.

Has anyone on here ever had to make a warranty claim?

Stevet as I've said before I've only got a 3rd party warranty, but haven't had to claim. its due for renewal in September, and I'll probably renew, although i'm sure it will be significantly cheaper than Lexus. Maybe that would be an option for you. Still some piece of mind without the expense.

It would be interesting to know if yours covers the MM unit.

Hi there sorry to sound a bit thick but what do you mean by the MM unit? Looking at changing my RX for a ISF and not sure what you meant. Thanks.

Are thanks for that. Remember a few years ago when lexus had problems with the multi disc CD players jamming in their is200, they did fit me a new one even when it was out of warranty but things have changed somewhat now.

The main problem on the new IS is that the touch screen fails, but there are walk-throughs on the web on how to repair it yourself.
