Can An Is300 Autobox Go Into An Is200 Auto

Hi, I apologise inadvance if this is a stupid question, but I have always wondered if the auto box in an IS300 would go into an IS200 auto? The reason I think about this is that the IS300 has a 5 speed auto and the IS200 has a 4 speed. The IS200 if it had that extra gear would be an even better car a more relaxed motorway cruiser if it had the extra gear and more economical.

I would be interested to know why this could not be done?

I would also like to know how different is the IS300 engine is from the IS200 as I'm thinking of getting an IS300.

It's not that easy, the is300 box has a different ecu and also has extra wiring for steering wheel controls. Probably other things as well. like mounting points ect.

The main difference is the extra 50 odd bhp.

its possible I think, but a lot of headache. . it wont drive no where near like is300.

get an is300. job done.

Anyhthing is possible.... What you have to equate is weather it's worth the time, effort and money! Personally I think not, probably cheaper and a lot easier to just buy an IS300

Just get a is300. In terms as running costs itsthe same. Except insurance maybe more.
