Hello All, When using these " Smart Car Battery Chargers " does the Battery need to be disconnected from the car, or can the Battery be left connected to the car, and the charger just left on, when the car is not being used that often...Cheers Roy.

My car is the LS400 1995.

I have read that they can be used with the Battery still connected, there was an article in Car Mechanics a while ago I will see if I can find it and come back to you.

Just looked at the Ctek website and it mentions connecting the positive to the Battery +ve terminal and the negative lead to the cars chassis so I would assume from this the Battery remains connected.

Yes it can be left on without disconnecting the Battery. From memory it was about £100.

It's the second CTEK charger I have had and with all things you get what you pay for.

I use it for car and leisure batteries it has recovered a couple of batteries that were dead.

In my opinion it's worth the money. My LS 430 doesn't get much use but it's allways ready to go as the CTEK keeps it topped up.
