Key Fob

had my lexus is220d se-l for just over 2 weeks now, but my only problem is the key fob, it takes ages to lock/unlock the car, I went back to the garage where I bought the car and they said they changed the Battery but I don't believe they did as I keep getting low key Battery and key not detected on the dash.

Is it worth going to lexus itself and explaining the problem to them and get them to put a new Battery in or would I need a new fob all together and if so what would the cost be.

For the cost of a new Battery i'd go to the dealers and let them check key as well.

Sorry to mention that mine done same thing only once now its ok @ was told that phones can cause it as. Key uses same signal

I had the same trouble, warning light on the dash key fob Battery low not detected etc, i bought a new Battery form a jewelers and changed it myself now it works fine, total cost £4.99

I've also herd wifi signals from computer routers can cause problems with your doors not opening without using your fob.

I just changed the Battery in my key fob myself one week ago and it cost me £2.99 (and I got two batteries from amazon for that price).

It takes 30 secs to change them and at least you would then know if it was caused by the Battery or not.

All you do is take out the key and insert the point of it into the little gap in the fob. Once in turn clockwise and it clicks open.

It must be worth a try before you turn up at Lexus and get charged a fortune.

When I first got my lexus I changed the Battery in one of my fobs. Bought a cheap one from a local car parts shop and It wouldn't work. Went to my local lexus dealer and they changed it for free. Always worth a try!! Plus while I was there they gave it a free check over, washed it and hoovered it out. They're not all that bad.
