What Tyre Pressures Are You Guys Running?

Recommended Posts

Had Nitrogen put back in my tires yesterday after a few weeks of running of normal air. When I got my wheel refurbed the Wheel Specialist didn't have the facility to fill them with Nitrogen and so have been meaning to do it for a while. It really does make a difference but I am confused about the pressure you guys are using. On my car the graphic says 36 all round but some are saying that 40 is better. If I want to try that can I just top it up with o2 or do I need to go back to where I got the Nitrogen from?

No!!! Don't whatever you do try adding normal air to increase the pressures. You'll need to ask the garage to top them up with more nitrogen.

Mine are running 40psi like a few others. Wear and ride seem spot on mate.

Think the yanks run lower pressures given their in a generally warmer climate than us.

Hope this helps. :)

Cheers.

Nitrogen you say. Ok I'll give it a try. I usually air up at sainsburys it's free!

May be free Sim, but you have to do it every week or so. ;)

With Nitrogen, you can forget about them for several months! :)

Kwik-Fit at Strood did mine for £3 a tire. Best £12 I've spent! :)

Go with 40psi all round. Worth doing mate.

Cheers.

Yeh i might give them a try, i'll see if gravesend kwikfit do it

i've always had 38-40psi seems to be the best, though my tyres seem to hold the air pretty good, i once left them for a couple months and it had only dropped by 1-2 psi, not too shabby at all!
