Rx350 Air Shock Suspension Conversion

I am new to this forum.

I just bought a 2006 RX350 SE-L with the Air Suspension. It has been imported to the Caribbean where specialised Lexus technicians are non-existent. I have been hearing a very heavy rattling noise coming from the rear wheel/shock area when driving over unsurfaced roads. Apart from the knocking/rattling the actual ride quality is not affected.

My mechanic here suggested that it may be a problem with the Air Shocks. Someone else who owns an RX300 has been experiencing the same problem and he has not been able to solve it despite purchasing various parts.

I am considering converting to a normal spring shock suspension but have been having difficulties locating a kit that will fit my vehicle. There are kits on the US market by Suncore Industries, but their tech guys tell me it won't fit the English RX for that year.

Has anyone had the same problem? Have you been able to resolve it? Do you know of an Air to Spring conversion kit that I can purchase?

Does he know it won't fit or just playing it safe because he doesn't want a return? I doubt Suncore Industries have even seen a UK spec RX400h.

I'm not saying the two are identical but normally third party suspension products fit both and for example a 2006 European and US RX350 have the same Lexus part codes for the rear shocks.

I thought that there shouldn't be much of a difference. I told him that and he insist that it won't work. But like you I get the sense that he is just playing it safe. I may try for a different tech again. But it would still be helpful to look into any other options.
