Evo Magazine Writer Contacted Me About The F....help Needed...

Recommended Posts

I did put a tyre review in the tyre thread some where dude. A lot of it comes down to personal preference.

Thanks Stuart..will have a venture there. To be honest I forgot we have a tyre forum...spend too much time here.

Hi chaps, I was contacted yesterday via e-mail by a chap who writes for EVO magazine from time to time and he has asked to speak with me about buysing a used F.

He found me through Piston Heads.

i have collated some point as per below....any thoughts for when i catch up with him?

Exterior tweaks/upgrades:

Suspension upgrades for better damping and spring compression rates – 2011

Mechanical LSD – 2011

Day time running lights (LED) – 2011

Slightly firmer steering - 2011

Interior tweaks:

- Piano black centre console surround

- Moved ‘Sport’ button to steering when so easier to reach

- Amended dash to be in line with the LFA, small Speedo and giant rev counter.

Issues:

Leaking water pump on American models but not seen this on UK models.

Had front lights replaced due to misting up.

Had oil transmission pipe replaced to due to a small leak.

Performance:

Averaging 22.5 MPG over 5.5k miles. Had as much as 32.3 on the trip on a motorway run.

Stu

Too late I know but the Mechanical LSD came in MY 2010 along with major update to HDD Audio Media system and Sat Nav including Bluetooth streaming, Gracenote CD ripping, DAB etc., you can tell a MY2010 by Blue ISF bit at bottom of steering wheel and the fact it will have DAB button on media console.

The other major update over all the prod years was the MY2011 this got revised suspension, digital dash with big Rev counter, new steering wheel with metal inserts and sport button and DRL - this MY also lost the wiper blade heaters strangely

After that you are looking at tweaks to suspension mainly for later MY

I don't think so, I had mine over 160 in Germany and it was still accelerating

Now that's good to know.....really should take a trip over there and give it some.

The ISF is limited to 167 mph

Read this on the Evo app and it seemed like a really positive review. Very limited downsides and all the performance you could ever need.

Great for current owners but not so much for those of us looking to buy ..... Will have to try harder to find one.
