  1. Thanks for the good wishes folks. I sold the car privately - hadn't advertised it but responded to a 'wanted' ad here in Ireland and sold at the first viewing. Same as others on here, new owner was a pleasure to deal with and I have pointed him towards this site. I haven't replaced the ISF yet - have my eye on a couple of things but haven't nailed anything down yet. I am doing pretty small mileage these days so tempted to get a 2 door / 2+2. Looking at something fun like a Porsche or a Clio V6 / Exige or similar. Or at least I am until I get sense and realise that I need something bigger. Open to suggestions though...... Gavan
  2. I've just waved goodbye to my old 09 ISF - a lovely black car with 52k miles and perfect history - and am already wondering why I sold it (and what could replace it). I had the car just over 2 years and - apart from standard services - the car only needed tyres, rear discs and pads. Not bad for 2 and a bit years given the performance on tap ! In addition to the driving - which was fantastic - the whole ownership experience was great. A big part of this was the information and advice available on this forum which I found to be about the best informed and friendliest of all the forums I have been on over the years. Thanks to all who made it so and hope you continue to enjoy your cars. I fully expect to be back as an ISF owner again in the future and hope to enjoy it as much as this time. Cheers, Gavan
  3. All fitted now - together with front pads (unexpectedly), tyres all round and refurbished wheels. Can't say car is transformed but definitely feels a bit sharper and more secure. Bonus is that all this got done for Lexus Dealer quoted price of rear discs / pads and 2 rear tyres ! I also made the mistake of ordering two sets of rear Pagid pads and given I only do 5k a year it will be 2020 or so before I use them. Happy to pass them on to another Forum User if of interest - free as long as you cover the postage. Send me a PM if interested. Gavan
  4. Decision made for me too .... Just need to pull the trigger on Camskill now. One last question - my car is a 2009, presume the 245/35 and 275/30 sizes will fit just fine on standard alloys ? Cheers, Gavan
  5. Cheers folks. Brembo discs and Pagid pads ordered - hopefully will do the trick. Thanks for the help, Gavan
  6. Hey all - looking to get the wisdom of the forum on a purchase. Based on other posts have got a price of about £78 per Brembo disc from Eurocarparts - and with current discounts comes in at £60 delivered. So far so good I think .... Problem is that Eurocarparts only have Pagid pads and I would prefer to get the Brembo pads (to keep as OEM as possible). Any alternatives to Eurocarparts that you would recommend - or should I just go for Pagid ? Thanks, Gavan
  7. Fantastic - that is some service even from a mate. Will be interested to see how you get on with the larger tyre size. Gavan
  8. I do pretty limited mileage each year so the additional wear will be less of a factor. Will be interested as well in the Ring update - good luck. Gavan
  9. In the market for new rears as well and likely to go for the Conti 6 as well (replacing Bridgestone RE050). I had previously thought of replacing with Goodyear Assym 2 or Michelin Pilot SS but seems that Contis are well ahead. Any thoughts on whether the Assym 3 or Pilot Sport 4 would be anyway closer to Conti ? On a related point, was going to stick with Stock size but is there any kind of modification required to go to 275/30 ? Don't have any access to any kind of discounted tyres so will have to buy online and have shipped to Dublin - what is the best site for pricing / reliability ? Cheers, Gavan
  10. Thought it looked familiar - you got a good one there. Just a pity that's another one gone from this side of the water.... Best of luck with it. Gavan
  11. I have had my car a year or so and have not had the update done yet - what kind of cost is it for the DVD based update ? Cheers, Gavan
  12. Looks great - congrats on the purchase. Enjoy it. Sounds like quite a trip but looks like it was worth it. Gavan
  13. Hard to replace the ISF Damien at £16-18k - do you have something nice in mind ? Would it be worth putting the Warranty on it to boost the price you could ask.... You're not tempted to try to sell it in ROI - been a couple for sale for a little while now I see ? All the best, Gavan
  14. Is the £895 for two years warranty a time-limited offer ? I bought a 2 year warranty for £795 when I bought the car about 15 months ago. Would be really interested in buying again in October just for the peace of mind. Any ignore of any dealers offering deals on this ? Thanks, Gavan
  15. Well done on the purchase - and in the best colour too. Interested to hear how you get on with the Spotify streaming - lack of Bluetooth streaming on my 09 is the only real niggle with ownership so far Gavan
  16. This is pretty much a dream list for me - in particular the Clio v6 / Exige / GTi. All you need to do is add a TVR and a Porsche 911 (993) and it's there. What do you plan next? Gavan
  17. Lovely car Ross and in the best colour.... Good luck keeping it that shiny on our roads. Where did you get it by the way - from Charles Hurst or further afield ? Gavan
  18. Damien, I feel your pain on the tax. I have a 2009 Black ISF in Dublin since last October and facing into next bill of 1300 for 6 months tax. Despite that I absolutely love it - pussy cat when you are cruising with family on board and hot rod when circumstances allow.... Hard to know what to replace that with given that the only other cars that give that kind of ability (C63 / RS4) are also a fortune to tax. What about the likes of a Golf R - not quite the same ballistic performance but a bit more palatable on the tax ? As a complete alternative, I could sell you a B5 RS4 with 380bhp that I picked up a few months ago - but about the same as the ISF on tax. Good luck with the change though .... Hopefully the ISF might stay this side of the water ? Gavan
  19. Looks fantastic Stu. Love the calipers - did you get those painted recently ?
  20. Lovely car Ross and in the very best colour.... Congratulations on the purchase and enjoy. Did you buy in the Republic or have you added about 20% to the number in the country ? Hopefully will see you at the next Cars&Coffee. Gavan
  21. My hope is that low depreciation will even out the horrendous tax costs - bit of a stretch but anything to avoid an Aygo ! Stu - it is worse than you think. The €2,200 is an annual tax bill - the tax to register the car in the country on day one is at least double that. It takes real commitment to buy anything sporty over here..... Worth it though ! Gavan
  22. Welcome along Ross. I bought mine a few months ago after research on here as well and it was really invaluable. I'm in Ireland as well so the tax was a consideration but I ended up buying an 09 as it was the best I could find. There have been a number of updates to the cars over the years so bear that in mind when looking. The tax is painful - but better to get the right car. good luck with the search. Gavan
  23. Any update on when this work will be done. Got my letter several weeks ago but would have expected some further update. It seems it may be quite some time if the issue is (presumably) pretty low risk ? Anyone heard anything further ? Cheers Gavan
  24. Like the wheels but love the diffuser - is it a full rear bumper replacement ? Gavan
  25. Thanks for that. Seems to be exactly the same as mine - 4 seatbelts but 5 seats on V5. Anyone ever tried to correct it with the DVLA - or is it never an issue ? Gavan
