On my is220d lights come on automatically when start car @ when u switch car off open door lights go off but recently lights r staying on I thinking must b a sensor but does any 1 know where this sensor is located thanks

By 'lights' I assume you mean the interior lights? These are operated according to the illuminated entry system - no sensors involved (the sensor Normski refers to surely is for the auto headlight function for when you enter a dark place?)

Can't quite envision exactly what is happening, but check the switch positions in the overhead console - or possibly a relay or an illuminated entry system ecu problem?

Ah..right. But isn't this going to have more to do with the door open switch than the headlight sensor? Do the interior lights work properly on opening and closing the door?. The headlights should, I think stay on indefinitely after you switch off until you open the door, so if they don't know that the door has been opened, they are going to stay on?

Sometimes interior lights don't come on today opened @ slammed door now headlights go off done it few times soon open door headlights go off like u say it could b door switch might take it out @ clean it
