Clutch - Transmissio Problem....

Hi guys, i want to told you the problems i've with my IS200....

1: When move the car with a little gas i fell a vibration, it's like the clutch is'nt able to work fluently....

2: Every time i release the gas pedal when i'm in movement the car didn't slow down fluently but i hear a "clunk" and i feel an unexpected slowing down...

3: Every time i change speed (gear down or up ... is the same) i'm not able to change with a fluent action but there is always the same "clunch" and the same unexpected problem.

I must ba mad, i have not driving enjoying..... :yack: :yack: :yack:

(2). I get this when the engine is cold, had it from new. I describe it as jerky. It feels like the car is juddering. It's when you take the foot off the gas ...... I'm waiting for Lexus to come up with a fix on this.

Sorry but I don't get (1) or (2).

One thing I have noticed is when engine is warm and I am driving quite quick and high rpm then take foot of the gas the revs don't drop ( like a real car :) not sure if anyone else gets this on a manual. There is no engine braking.

1) is a problem with clutch / flywheel.

Mine was the same but is now fixed after 3 new clutches + 2 new flywheels.

Dealer said fitting procedure for flywheel updated to ensure completely smooth.

Also thought flywheel slightly different although it has same part number.

2) i notice this too. It's a feature not a bug according to Lexus.

I consider it poor design but i don't think there's much chance of any fix.

Lift off throttle, fuel is switched off so car decelerates.

As revs approach idle (can be nearly 2k if still cold) fuel switches back on.

Car then lurches forward... or rather decelerates much less sharply.

It's a combination of poorly implemented fly by wire throttle + overrun fuel cut.

Let's hope they give throttle control back to the driver in the next model :angry:

That will never happen. It will just be designed better. There again the new model won't be using a 25 year old engine either.

Well let's just hope they don't start including fly by wire steering and brakes too then :D

I think it's a bad tihmg because you can't drive relaxed!!!! Ok, i understand that there will be a fuel cut-off when you relase the Gas pedal but this unfluently thing will be corret only if i drive with a low speed and high RMP... (for example it's normal that the car is not fluent when i release the gas in second gear ad 6000RPM... but not in 6th gear with the angine at 2500 RPM!!!!)

I think it's a big problem!!!

Tony, another thing.... if it's only a cut off problem i have not to hear the "clunck" Isn't it???

Have you solved the problem???
