Passenger Door Won't Open From Outside

Hi,

I have a 2000/W IS200 Sport.

The car is great, I haven't had a single issue with it up until now.

When I unlock the car, the central locking appears to work correctly, all doors apart from the Near Side (Front Passenger) are unlocked.

The door simply won't open from the outside.

Is this a security feature that I've overlooked?

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Can anyone recomend a solution?

Thanks

Adam

I did at first think it may be a child lock, but I soon remembered that they are generally only used on rear doors, and they are to prevent the door being opened from the inside.

The door does open fine from the inside.

On previous cars they've had the feature of when you unlock the car, only the driver's door is opened, the key must be pressed again to unlock the other doors.

But it just seems that the release mechanism from the outside isn't working??

Hi did you get any joy fixing this problem? I have exactly the same thing go wrong on mine.

I wouldn't hold your breath, unfortunately this thread is over 5 years old and the OP hasn't posted since 2005, but you never know someone else might have an answer :winky:
