  1. LS400s! Well, what did you expect on this forum? Seriously, it was great to meet up with Tom this afternoon (Angel123) and chat about the lovely cars that we all enjoy. His one (silver) is almost exactly the same age as mine, and has just done 1500 less miles. Both cars also have 4 previous owners. Mine has LPG; Tom's thinking about it. Both in lovely condition. We shared a coffee and chatted about car histories and what we both love about the LS400s that we own. Happy days. Here are a couple of pictures of our far from clean LS400s enjoying each other's company:

  3. I hate it. For one, I spend a very large portion of my day driving, and even the slightest glimpse of snow turns everyone into the most pathetic drivers ever. Second, I work outside - so that's pretty self explanatory. And thirdly, changing windscreens on cars isn't an easy job at the best of times, but it's made dramatically worse in cold temperatures, and made even worse by the complete and utter bell-ends that don't bother to even clear their cars of snow on the day I turn up to change their windscreen. Sometimes I wish I had an office job..... (Then I wake up and realise I'd be likely to kill someone if I did)

  4. When i had my IS200, it's tracking was going out all the time. Try a reputable garage like National tyres or Lexus themeselves will track all 4 for you for a price; but it's good service there and you know they are done to top spec.

  5. Laser tracking is pointless if the rears are out - because they use the rears (in most cases) to align the fronts. So if your rears are out, then aligning the fronts with lasers just means you have 4 wheels out. Shame you're a bit far from WIM to have them set it up :(

  6. Hi Mike It is more complicated than leaning the mixture a bit - there are commercial ECU remappers who advertise a 20% improvement in fuel economy if you have them work on your car. I put an external chip (connected to the ODI port) on my car for a few months and it had minimal effect - it just seemed to get hot so I removed it. Bren Hi Bren, I seem to remember one of the main TV channels did a programe reviewing many of these Snake Oil products some time ago and not one of them worked. They came to the conclusion that if it was possible manufacturers would have included it in their building specs years ago. Mike. I think you'll find that many manufactures were going to supply new dual fuel cars this included Land Rover who about 6-7years were in talks with government The government, in their wisdom, discouraged the idea because if other manufactures followed suit & it caught on with the public (which it would) it would mean a substantial drop in tax revenue. The only manufacturer who I recall did offer dual fuel was Vauxhall but they have dropped it Volvo & Saab also offered it and you right about the U turn the government did, their loss our gain. Mike Ford, Proton, and Nissan as well I think. I certainly had a Y reg Primera that was an official conversion, though I believe they came off the line as standard cars, and the conversion was contracted out.

  7. Chances are the geometry of your car is all over the place now. I would get it set up properly with a laser set up as suggested above.

  9. Regarding the calipers if the rubber boots for the slide pins perish ect, they can let water in which seizes the slide pins.As i had the same problem looked into replacing everything, Think AClex quoted me £60 for all parts. Part numbers for fronts: 2 x 47715-22070 Pin, Cylinder Slide 2 x 47715-30060 Pin, Cylinder Slide 2 x 47769-50010 Bush, Cylinder Slide 2 x 47775-30070 Bush Dust how to here, http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/tutorials/article/161-caliper-slide-pin-overhaul-plus-all-models-i-think/

  10. Welcome to the club, Looks very nice does that. Haynes don't do a manual for lexus IS. There's a cd on e-bay though, used to be free online but they took it down. You can still find links for free ones but its impossible to find individual items as it's all un-named pdf files.
