  1. ive got a creaky pedal too, i assume it just needs greasing
  2. im suffering with the same problem on my IS, when i read your post i intially thought ball joints but as you have had them replaced i dont know. Could it be a faluty ball joint that was fitted? ive read on this forum that that was the case when they had their ball joints replaced. out of interest how much did it cost for the ball joints to be replaced? im sure mine need replacing but im waiting until my MOT next week,so im not 100%sure what it is until then
  3. i cant even see it, i best get off to specsavers
  4. i would apply laquer mate, i didnt and my decals have started to peel
  5. booked in for my MOt in a couple of weeks time, i think mine too will fail on the ball joints. driverside front is making a sort of popping sound as if its slipping when i put full lock to the left on
  6. I heard cheap and good looking mod so i want so how easy is this? Pop the wheel off and get some special paint and just paint on with a brush? Or is it a bit more technical, what is a hub as u can tell I have no idea about this sort of thing...lol ha my knowledge was about as good as yours but it really is as simple as you say, apart from give the callipers a good scrub down with a wire brush first and give them a quick wash, then you simply paint. the hub is the circular bit that sticks out from the brake disk as you can see in the pic, where the nuts are sticking out, if that makes any sense
  7. lol cheers for that, the thought never actually crossed my mind
  8. thought id bump this up instead of strarting a new thread, but the time as come for my 100k service, does anyone have a list of whats actually done in the service? reason i ask is ive just got a quote from my local garage and they want £126 + VAT (not includint cam belt), which seems very cheap. i know i can trust them as they have a good reputation and i have used them many times before. when driving past i they always seem to be working on top marque cars and also have car showroom next door which mainly deal in prestige (sp) cars. it just seems to cheap! so a list of what is actually done at the 100k would be great. thanks for the help
  9. tbh i dont think there is any complete fix for it, is the car still under warrenty? you may be able to get it replaced. im still waiting for the day when mine eventually packs up!
  10. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=33265 have a look on this link mate, i was going to ask these guys seem pretty reasonable, just not had chance to give them a call and sort something out
  11. id go for carlack all in one and sealent galze followed by some p21s wax. just about to buy some myself
  12. it can be done with the prolex aux in unit if i am not mistaken. think its a simple install if you have a non sat nav version. looked into it myself but ive got factory fitted sat nav and i think thats where things start to get complicated.
  13. great stuff, im wanting some of the carlack68-sc and ps21 wax so if i order say this time next week all will be ok. is there no carlack69-sc left in any bottle size? I never got the gold discount...best to call them unless anyone can help... The AIO is a polish and will remove Supagard...so don't do this to the new car for 18 months or until you think the Supagard's worn out!!!! You should remove the AIO first, though in "german translation English" it says you don't need to on the bottle...I'd be concerned that the AIO will make the SG ineffective if SG is applied over hazed AIO.... You might get away with the Carnauba wax though - other may be ablw to comment, or the dealer should be able to tell you as Carnauba is very mild....and you should get a leaflet and pack with Supagard which should tell you all you need to know...apparently!! The Hawke will "glow"...just wait and see!!!! :;-):
  14. im reall sorry for you mate, the worlds going mad, if this had of been me i would have probs slapped the little S**t and faced the consequences later.
  15. funny you should start this thread, ive just seen a hot lady in an silver IS coming off junction 30 of the M1, gave here the fellow lexus nod
  16. congratulations mate, you will love it. sounds like a good deal to me. hope your not a leeds fan
  17. thanks mr morse, i shall give them a call tomorrow.
  18. http://www.upauto.co.uk/Servicemot.htm hi all, i was wondering if anyone had used/can recommend the above. im due my 100k service anytime now, im a bit short on the old pennys at the moment and dont really want to pay over he adds at a lexus dealer. reason being is that my car has got flsh but i with such high mileage and no intention to sell soon i cant justify the cost. ive had my cam belt changed already so the big job is out the way. if anyone recommend the above, or any other place in the sheffield to notts area id very much appreciate it.
  19. not sure either way, but it really does make you wonder
  20. an pics mate? i cant have mine until my 21st birthday lol
  21. thanks for the help guys, ive ordered my plates, went for the normal front plate and the square shaped rear which is big enough to have the correct sice lettering and spaceing
  22. as above could anyone give me some tips to clean the suade part of the seats. i went to football last night (it was my turn to drive) and due to the glorious sheffield rain there is the nasty damp smell inside the car could anyone shed some light as what i could do to clean them. ive read some topic in the search facility but not come up with much, topics tend to refer to leather cleaners and one topic mentions hardwiring a kettle , somehow i dont think mrs swfcdan would be too chuffed.
  23. do laquer them mate, ive had mine on about 8 months now and ive notived a bit of the 'L' has started to peel away. ive also got a couple of chips on them. when it warms up i think im going to strip them down and start again.
  24. im getting the clunk like noise when nearing a stop, it sounds like its coming from the front drivers side. was supposed to take it into lexus last week didnt have time. is it dangerous, my mot is due and the end of june so was going to just leave it until then. would it be better to get it sorted soon?
