  1. Welcome to the Club Zarlov. Please buy a GS, we're in a minority here around all those pesky IS owners
  2. You don't say what year your GS is - you might want to have a look at the following site, it details all recall notices and technical service bulletins for cars. http://www.alldata.com/recalls/index.html
  3. I saw some on Ebay - do a search on Lexus (mighta been Yahoo) - but you get the idea
  4. My SatNav Cd is version 3.2 - maybe that's the problem. Good luck!
  5. Thanks Richie - if you have any more data I'll take it - but that's a good start - thanks again
  6. GramdAlf - your system sounds faulty to me. I have the CD system (prolly exactly the same as yours) - it includes all public roads (big or small). The level of detail is much higher in certain cities (London, Brum. Manchester etc) - but it never gets lost on ANY road, and my version now has street numbers too. What version have you got (there's a number on the CD)?
  7. Shrek, I know how you feel - it's happened to me too. I'm just suprised it only took you 6 minutes to cool down between your first post and your second. Were you in a supermarket carpark or somesuch? - many of them have cameras - you never know!
  8. I'm gutted that I can't make this (in France on holiday). Got any plans for the next one yet???
  9. I've looked everywhere and had no luck at all. I put a VDO Dayton MS5000 in my wife's car - superb unit, and the maps are £80 (not £200 like the Lexus ones). Having said that, Lexus run a very good free loan service when you're going abroad (although the maps are a little out of date). On the map of France I borrowed last year, none of the motorways around Calais were in it.
  10. I wasn't around for the "worst car ever thread". Mine was a (blush) 1970 Renault 16 that someone gave me as a derelict (it had been sitting in a field for years. That thing was such a bitch to work on - had an inline front-wheel-drive engine and wet liners. You had to take the steering gear out to get the mill out. Lasted about a year then I had to pay someone a tenner to take it away. I remember that one of the calipers used to stick and I didn't have any cash to fix it - you have to wait for it to heat the disk to red hot before it'd release.
  11. Was all done in the best possible taste - and not meant (by me at least) to offend anyone. I was young once (as far as I can remember) and couldn't afford a hot hatch either!!
  12. Thanks Richie. It's hard to upgrade my unit as I have the Nav option. I think the Pioneer amp is not too bad, but I'm sure I could get a better sound my replacing the speakers.
  13. Got mine today - took less than a minute to decide it was bin fodder. I really can't see the point of it at all - seems to be mostly about tennis and flower shows
  14. I agree with you Steve - adding a hairdryer to a perfectly good car is just not fair:P:P
  15. Can anyone recommend a good source for replacement speakers for a GS300-II please (and exact size swap would be ideal)
  16. (smile) - blowers don't count - I know when I'm beat. Most people think big cars like the GS etc are slow old buses though - especially pimply youths in hot hatches. I know enough about cars to know when to try and when to leave alone - my GS would eat a natural IS2 for brekkie:smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin:
  17. It's often young boys in small cars who think they can race me - 309GTIs and GolfGTI seem to be favorite. Thing is, I'm always too far in front to be able to see the look on their faces when my 2 tonnes of "codger mobile" leaves them standing.
  18. Did you mean to say 80K KM?? - that's only 50,000 miles which is nothing on a GS300. My 98GS3 has just reached 108,000 miles and is still perfect. The only fault it's ever had is a leaky water pump. I'd say go for it - you might want to check that it has a full Lexus service history.
  19. Does anyone know where I can get a new / sports / mesh grill for my GS300 series 2 in the UK please?
  20. Yup - came top in tirersck's survey check out: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/max.jsp
  21. Just thought I'd share... Put some Potenza S03s on my GS300 - fantastic tyres - great grip and quieter than the Eagle F1s I had on there before - highly recommended.
