  1. I have used 10-40 for the past 60,000 miles, seems spot on
  2. A bit of topic! But what do you use to clean the inside of your wheel arches, they look spotless.
  3. My IS200 has just had a major 120,000 mile service, new plugs etc. Got 435 miles out of the first tank after service.
  4. Im also interested in doing this Stetz, can I ask the model number for the blue tooth kit from nokia? Mines the bottom loading CD player, are the pics numbered on the rear?
  5. I use the Kuhmo tyres, K31's I think, first set did 30,000 miles all round on second set at the moment. Cost me £276 for four, fitted etc.
  6. I'm not sure what gap they need to be, I was gonna ask for some help fitting them at the Japan North meet as they arrived the day before, can't believe the seller accused me of breaking them, I never even took them out of the box I'm not the seller, i'm the buyer, who is now out of pocket, and not for the first time from ebay too, truth is, neither me or the seller can prove who has messed up, so i'm not sure who gets credited after the period paypal give for us to sort it Sorry my bad, I mean the buyer! been a long day. I have had troubles before, aslong as you have a good profile on ebay from past transactions your be ok. Just state through paypal the problem, you have nothing to lose.
  7. Just dispute through paypal, they always back the seller and you will get your money back. May take 2 - 3 weeks though.
  8. this may sound a bit daft, but have you checked the socket works. my cigarette lighter doesnt wor, but the socket is still functional as i often use it to charge my mobile phone. it could be just the heating element that no longer works I had the same problem with mine and had found the plug had fallen off the bottom of the cigar lighter, just had to plug it back on. Was fidly but did it.
  9. The IK20 are the "performance" version and need replacing every 30k, the SK20 are the long life and need replacing every 60k
  10. many thanks! yeah i know i need 6 bu think ill go for the 8 the in 4 services time ill have a free set! haha! Good plan, but remember, these are long life plugs, they only need changing every 60,000 miles, you could change them sooner if you wanted to. I take it your going to be keeping your IS200 for a very long time? I got my plugs from this guy a couple of days ago, came through next day. I prefer the long life plugs, cant be bothered with hassle of changing shorter life ones more often myself.
  11. humm i thought they were to be changed at 100k? mine are still the orginals, i think. i wonder, that might explain why once every 100 or so starts, it shudders like its missfiring. ill get it checked out. The long life plugs last 60k, the performance plugs 30k. But i think in the US they state a 100k life span
  12. I wouldnt say my IS engine(althought a Sport model) is a high performance engine where tuning is critical. I got 400 miles + from a tank using Tesco's fuel and never had an engine problem. My plugs last the 60k stated in the service manual aswell.
  13. Whats the problem with Tescos fuel, I have been using it for the past 70k miles, my IS200 is on 130k, she runs as sweet as a nut. Let me know when this cheap fuel should give me trouble?

  15. Air conditioning is a drain on the car's resources - in particular, petrol.... Ouch, when you're driving so far! Jamie I can tell you know it makes no noticeable difference, I have had my IS 3 years and have done over 70k miles in it. Done the AC "on" for tanks and "off" for tanks and there is nothing in the mileage. I always have my AC on nowadays, I know people that hardly use theres and when they do come to use it, its packed up through lack of use. Your more likely to burn more fuel driving with the windows open (alot of Drag). fact. I know which why I prefer to travel. You get better economy using the snow button, I can get an extra 25-50 miles a tank with it. Thanks for your comment. Your car must be very superior. I will book my car in with Lexus ASAP to find out why my car is so different. (As for your comment on drag, when you are stuck in traffic in town I struggle to see how drag can really be an issue, but again I am probably wrong) Again can we drop this issue now, I did not want to start a discussion on economy, and otherwise I would have started one. I just commented on my own experiences. You cant book your car into lexus to find out why its so different as you wont have mine there to reference it too :) If you spent your holiday in traffice, that sucks :( Hope it wasnt to bad. I prefer to stay cool and relaxed in traffic, than get all hot and sweaty for the sakes of a few pence. I bought Lexus for luxury :) not to be like an old ford driver :P Nice pics by the way. I dont think I will be taking my car to the bottom of europe to try and beat your on dash outside temp, congrats on the win. When you have had the IS a little longer like me. (3 Years) your get there :) Did you buy that fuel saver from ebay then?? Nope I just know my Lexus :) Difference is minimal, just preference, I prefer to use the Aircon, others prefer windows down. WylieCoyote I have also found that how you drive hardly makes any difference, just if its motorsways or Urban. Lead foot or light foot, still get about the same a tank. Have done 90K in my lexus since owning it, tried every combo. Snow also helps smooth out pull away in traffic.

  20. Just wondered why you were trying to keep the air con off as much as possible?
